A Journey from Uncertainty

Not long ago, Mumbus’ felt lost. With no direction and no clear plan for the future, each day seemed heavier than the last. Opportunities were scarce, and hope felt far away.

Then, everything began to change.

“When I had almost given up,” “Empower Hope Kenya came into my life. They sponsored my training, gave me a place to belong, and a reason to believe again.”

Finding Belonging and Purpose

Through Empower Hope’s skills and mentorship programs, Mumbus’ learned not only how to cook but how to lead, dream, and inspire. In the kitchen, she found more than a career she found a community that believes in transformation through opportunity.

Today, Mumbus proudly works as a chef at Ambatana Commercial Kitchen, where every meal she prepares tells a story of resilience.

 “Every plate I serve carries hope,” Mumbus says softly.

For her, cooking is no longer just a job, it’s a way to give back, to remind others that hope is real and that second chances can be deliciously beautiful.
